Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

The Score War, Part VIII: I Did It, and So Can You!
Until a few days ago, I'd mostly held off on playing a lot of Rock Band since the last time I posted a Score War update; breaking 9 million points hasn't really changed my life, but it should be noted that 9 million is most certainly over 9,000. I got in some good World Tour play with [info]tunaman while he visited (which I'm still sort of processing, and will me making a post about tonight or tomorrow), and after having a few weeks away from the Solo Tour I figured I'd get back into a few songs a day to stay sharp just in case I can put my talents to use at PAX next month.

I went through "Green Grass and High Tides" last night after adding a good chunk of points to "Creep," and ended up adding another 20,000 points to my score, putting me about another 20,000 away from the Gold Star minimum (413,106 points, if you're interested). 20k isn't really all that far away, so gold starring it seemed entirely plausible. You know, at some point in the future.

Or today. You know, whichever.

Booted up the ol' 360 and decided to do one run-through to see how I'd place in regards to last night's run, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't exceed my own expectations.

The Score War: Holy Crap

I'm well aware that the margin for improvement on this song is still pretty large, but dude. I topped the 6-star cut-off by nearly 30k points on one of the hardest songs in the game. I am very, very pleased.

Career Score thus far: 9,126,727

Dear hands,

please stopping typing grammatically abominable sentences that make no sense whatsoever.

ETA: Have decided that brain refuses to function due to lack of sustenance. Indian lunch is the obvious solution.

Spent some time on Saturday morning mapping GPS coordinates in West Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh for an mScape I'm attempting to plan.

It's strange some people's reactions to a guy with a PDA in hand wandering about.

Some obviously think GEEK!, other "enlightened" pedestrians stare in abject horror and begin frantically hunting for the toxic radiation spill I'm obviously scanning for, whilst muttering reassurances to their wide-eyed children.

Planning continues.
